No, that’s not a typo in the title of this post. The entire month of September is all about rocking awesome lipsticks for a great cause – women’s mental health awareness.
According to a 2007 study by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 1 in 5 Australians aged between the ages of 16 and 85 will experience a mental illness each year. Women are statistically more likely to experience a mental illness than men.
Common mental illnesses include: anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, social phobia and eating disorders. If untreated, the symptoms of these conditions can affect many aspects of your life.
To do your part to help raise awareness of women’s mental health issues all you need to do is pop into your local Chemist Warehouse, My Chemist or My Beauty Spot to buy your official Liptember lipstick by budget beauty brand W7. When your friends compliment your pretty pout, tell them to get involved too by buying a Liptember lipstick themselves or sponsoring you by making a donation.
The tricksest part will be choosing a lipstick! From pretty pinks and reds to vibrant blues and yellows, the W7 Liptember range has you covered. The shades are glossy, super-hydrating and have an amazing fruity scent.
You can follow Liptember on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up-to-date with the campaign. Don’t forget to upload selfies of your great pout and hashtag #Liptember.
All funds raised by the Liptember campaign are donated to the Centre for Women’s Mental Health and Lifeline. Last year an amazing $800,000 was raised!
Famous Liptember supporters include: Chrissie Swan, Jo Silvagni, Rhiannon Fish and Molly Meldrum to name a few!
So what are you waiting for? Visit www.liptember.com.au and support this amazing cause.
If you need mental health support, please contact Lifeline on 131 114 or visit lifeline.org.au (or a similar organisation in your country.) Help is out there and it will get better.
Which lipstick shades will you be rocking this Liptember?
