This post is definitely a blast from the past, as it is about an event I attended in March for Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival; but I really wanted to share all the fun details with you as I really did have an awesome time and I have been meaning to write this post ever since!
I won tickets to this event by entering a competition on the Lime Crime Australia Facebook page. All I had to do was comment on a photo of the advertising flyer of the event with who I would take with me to Fashion Connect and why. My answer was that “I would take my friend Jackie because we both work so hard and I would write all about it on my blog of course!” I was gobsmacked and oh so excited when I found out that I actually won!
The lovely Jill from Lime Crime very kindly sent me two Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stains in Pink Velvet for Jackie and I to wear to the event.
On the day of the event, Jackie and I treated ourselves to makeovers at Napoleon Perdis in Southland (excluding our lips of course, so we could wear our STUNNING new lip stains); and dressed-up to the nines (don’t know where I pulled that old lady saying from, but oh well!)
As soon as we arrived at Melbourne’s iconic Spice Market, we were treated to enormous gift bags and cocktails. Canapés were passed around as we mingled and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
The evening began with the hostess Annamarie welcoming us all and a fabulous burlesque act.
Then the fashion shows began! The unique layout of the square-ish runway, that went around the venue, enabled us to get really close to the fashion which was amazing. The featured designers were: Hawkeye Vintage, Divya R, I88W, Matcho Suba, Craig Braybrook Couture, et al and Oscar Calvo.
The contents of the amazing goodie bag!
Thank you so much to Jill and all the lovely people at Lime Crime for a fun and fashionable night out. I will definitely try to attend the event again next year.
Till next time,
